Establishment of the Corporation

 

Sidama Construction Works Corporation (SCWC) is a governmental company engaged in Construction sector with Grade 1 General Contractor License. SCWC was established following the final decentralization process of the former Southern Nations, nationalities, and people’s regional state in 2015E.C.

Following the disintegration of the SNNPR, the regional governments of Sidama, South West Ethiopia, South Ethiopia, and Central Ethiopia have decided to reform the former South Water Works Construction Enterprise (SWWCE) and SNNPR Housing Development Enterprise to establish independent public construction enterprises within the regions.

As a result, the idea for the establishment of the corporation was set off together with the establishment of Sidama National Regional State to meet the infrastructure   demand of the regional society. Thus, Sidama Construction Works Corporation (SCWC) was established with a Regulation No. 30/2023 issued on December 6, 2023 G.C. by Executive Council of Sidama National Regional State.
